Sick note? Why not try a “fit note”

The Department for work and pensions is making changes to absence by replacing the sick note with a new fit note that will allow doctors to send employees back to work after a 7 day period of illness.

Doctors will be able to advice patients as either ‘is not fit for work’ or ‘may be fit for work’. In the latter statement employees will be allowed to go back to work but only if extra support from their employer is available. Read more →
